I'm Nice Cream and this is my submission to the Fireside Jam 2024! I had a lot of fun making this project and I hope you have a lot of fun playing it! I will below explain the mechanics in case you have any confusion:
CONTROLS
Moving: You use the keys W A S D to hop around! You must hold down the key to charge your jump and release to do the jumping action!
Inflating: When you're unflating, you may press W to increase and S to decrease your scale. When you reached a desired scale you may press SPACE to finish inflating!
SCORING
There are 3 elements that will make you gain points: Time, Hops and Might!
Time: Every time you enter a new room you have the potential to gain 30 TP (Time Points). However, you lose 1 TP every time a second passes.
Hops: Every time you enter a new room you have the potential to gain 30 HP (Hop Points). However, each time you jump you loose 3 HP.
Might: After you finish a room, your TP and HP are added together and multiplied by your Mighty Multiplier (MM)! The MM is relative to your scale, so the bigger your scale, the greater your MM!
CREDITS
I have made all the art, coding, concepts and music by myself (Nice Cream), however the sounds were made in various ways:
-3 Sounds were Borrowed from already existing games, those being: Yoshi's Island, Super Mario World and Super Mario Bros.
-The minority of sounds were made from scratch using Beepbox.
-The majority of sounds were slightly or greatly edited versions of sounds from The Essential Retro Video Game Sound Effects Collection [512 sounds] By Juhani Junkala.

Made a video
A lot of fun! only think I think would be nice is some way to cancel your charge. Happened a few times where I'd start charging a direction to move, realize that if I move that direction I'll die no matter what, but I've been charging to long so there's nothing I can do.
Other than that this is one of the cooler games I've seen made in GDevelop, feels like a DS game or something

I think I'm just gonna make one last update with some features I couldn't add in time and then I'll be 100% satisfied with this project.
Hey great job, this was fun to play. I love that it warns you when you get too big but you let the player try it anyway. This was a creative design idea for a game, you must make games a lot.

Random levels, bopping soundtrack, a challenging control system... I can't say enough great things about this. Outstanding work!
